It’s time for your renewal. Premiums keep rising and benefits keep shrinking. Your’re faced with tough decisions; your employees count on you to make the right ones. They depend on you to chart the right course, to pay competitive wages, and provide benefits to protect them from the unexpected. Who can you depend on?

Employee benefits are a dynamic and ever-changing business. This year the rules and players are entirely different than last year. Who can you depend on for sound advice, to know what’s going on and to be there when you need them? You can depend on us.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many employees are necessary to be considered a “group”?

In Colorado companies need a minimum of 2 employees.  1099 workers may be allowed depending on the insurance carrier. Conditions apply.

I’m a small employer, why should I consider offering insurance to my employees?

Employees recognize benefits are an important part of their overall compensation and financial security.  Benefits are a great way to help retain quality, long-term employees.  Is it better for your business in the long run to keep a great employee from leaving to a competitor, or continue to hire and train new ones?

Why can’t employees just buy a plan on the individual market?

They can at open enrollment, or if they experience a “special qualifying event”.  However, the options are more limited. Employer based plans have many more carrier and network options, including PPO networks.

Why should we use you; what do you offer?

We are full service. Not only do we offer all major carriers but we assist with employers and employees with common issues like claims questions, billing, ID cards and day to day tasks that come up. We also offer HR tools and our online enrollment system.   At open enrollment, or new hire, employees can log-in and see their benefits in one place on a professional enrollment portal.  Of course, we can do paper forms too! We offer much more.

Can a group apply any time during the year, or only Janaury 1?

Group (employer) plans are not subject to the ACA annual open enrollment periods (January 1) so we can start a plan anytime during the year.

Are businesses required to offer medical insurance to their employees?

Most employers choose to pay part of the cost for their employees as a benefit. The amount of the employer contribution varies by employer preference and the insurance carrier (some don’t require any contribution!). We would be happy to discuss your needs and budget.

If a company has employees in more than one state can those employees be included

Yes, they can! Many plans and networks are nationwide.

Some of my employees have health conditions. Will we qualify?

Fully-insured small group health plans are not medically underwritten and pre-existing condition exclusions do not apply.
